Over the years, BOKSS has provided family services mainly in Wan Chai and Cheung Sha Wan districts. Since 1 October 2011, our services have further expanded and we officially established Hong Kong East Family Development Services Centre in Shau Kei Wan. Currently, the Centre is offering the following services, including:

Service Scopes

Child Development Fund

Through the donation and sponsorship from community and “Mentors’ accompany”, students aged 10 to 16 or attending P4 to F4 are welcome to participate in the programme in setting learning objectives and achieving individual development and thus gradually alleviating poverty.

Neighbourhood Support Child Care Project 

Temporary care services are provided targeting children aged 0 to 9 in order to avoid parents leaving children behind at home due to emergencies. Support from “Community Child Caregivers” can exhibit the spirit of neighbourhood mutual support.

Community-based After-school Learning Support Project

Students who are CSSA recipients or come from low-income families are provided with after-school learning and support services. This project aims at offering learning opportunities for children and promoting their personal development.

Centre-based Program and Activities

The Centre organises activities targeting children, youth and women’s group, parent-child and family activities, study rooms for youth (open at night) and interest classes.

Parent School

The Parent School is established to equip parents with parenting knowledge and skills and to master their roles and attitudes; to promote parent-child relationship so that parents can effectively apply nurturing measures; to help families to establish a network with mutual support that facilitates sharing and experience exchange; to create a learning atmosphere for both parents and children in fostering the attitudes of reminding and encouragement.

Venue Rental Services

Counselling rooms, activity rooms and training centre are available for rental by organisations and groups during office hours. Please contact the Centre for more details.
