Introduction

Seek-funded by the Community Investment & Inclusion Fund(CIIF) and as a strategic Partnership  with Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH), the project is dedicated to promoting social capital through gathering community resources, developing social networks, as well as fostering community participation, mutual assistance and support. Its ultimate objectives are to strengthen community harmony and to promote mental wellness within the community..The three-year project started on 1 October 2015 and will run until  30 September 2018.,

 


Target

Community members, people in recovery and their families who reside or are present  in between Heng Fa Chuen and Wan Chai.


Philosophy

To promote a harmonious and caring culture within individuals, families, and towards the community, so that each of us is able to receive a message of love and acceptance and pass it on to the others.


Content

Smart Ambassador Scheme

Training sessions are provided to educate community members about  mental health issues as well as practical knowledge and skills in volunteering.

 

Campus Smart Ambassador

Training sessions are provided to empower  students to become campus ambassadors, who conduct  educational activities and engage their fellow students in promoting mental health awareness.

 

Community Outreaching Team

Volunteers are recruited and trained to provide home visits or  caring services to people who suffer from mental health issues.

 

Community Navigator Scheme

Volunteers are recruited and trained to become “Community Navigators” to work in groups to establish a close helping relationship with people in recovery for at least 6 months, and help them re-integrate with the community through developing networks of community resources.

 

District Mental Wellness Awareness Committee

Four District committees have been established in Wan Chai, North Point, Quarry Bay and Shau Kei Wan to bring together the leaders of their fields in the  “medical, social and welfare", based on the idea that cross-sector collaboration is importantand necessary for creating impactful and sustainable social change.
